Healthy families are the foundation of mission readiness. That's why IACH proudly hosts the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program – a Riley County resource that provides nutrition support, breastfeeding assistance, and health education to military families who need it most.

For many service members and their families, the WIC program represents an untapped opportunity. Despite serving nearly 1,400 beneficiaries at Fort Riley, many more could benefit.

Who Can Consent to a Minor’s Medical Care?
Under federal healthcare regulations, a minor (anyone under the age of 18) cannot receive medical treatment unless consent is given by:

• A biological parent
• A legal guardian (with court documentation)
• An individual holding a valid medical power of attorney (MPOA)
