Effective Nov. 3, 2025, all patients visiting specialty care clinics located on the 2nd floor of Irwin Army Community Hospital will check in at the OB/GYN & Well Women’s Clinic front desk. This consolidation is part of an ongoing effort to optimize staff resources.

The change affects patients visiting the following clinics:

• Orthopedics
• Podiatry
• Brace Shop
• Optometry
• Ophthalmology
• Audiology
• General Surgery
• OB/GYN & Well Women

Ambulatory Surgery and Oral Surgery will continue checking in patients at their respective locations.

Patients are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before their appointment to allow adequate time for check-in and reduce delays.

Fifteen months of persistence paid off Sept. 5 as Dr. Scott Saxe, IACH podiatrist, stood with hospital leaders and logisticians to welcome the long-awaited DUOLITH SD1 shockwave therapy device. Imported from Switzerland, this state-of-the-art system gives Soldiers and families a powerful new option for treating stubborn injuries such as plantar fasciitis—right here at Fort Riley.

FORT RILEY, Kansas — IACH recently acquired the DUOLITH SD1 shockwave therapy system, a state-of-the-art medical device that expands treatment options for musculoskeletal injuries common among Soldiers and families.

From wellness exams and vaccines to sick-call diagnostics and international health certificates, the VTF delivers evidence-based care tailored to your pet’s needs. The team also performs anesthetic procedures, provides prescription refills, and offers microchipping for long-term safety.

After-Hours Access to Hospital

FORT RILEY, Kansas — IACH reminds our patients and visitors that after-hours access to the facility remains consolidated to the Emergency Department entrance. Since February 2025, the patient entrance has closed daily at 5 p.m. to ensure safety and efficiency with limited staffing.

Custer Hill Dental Clinic Officially Re-Opens

FORT RILEY, Kansas — The Custer Hill Dental Clinic officially reopened its doors to Soldiers Aug. 28 following an extensive two-year renovation that transformed the facility into a viable dental care center for the 1st Infantry Division.

The front desk team at Custer Hill Dental Clinic will soon be back in action, checking in patients, scheduling appointments, and keeping the clinic running smoothly.
