Family Advocacy Program (FAP)

The Family Advocacy Program's primary mission is to prevent intimate partner and child abuse, to encourage reporting of all instances of abuse, to ensure the prompt assessment and investigation of all abuse cases, to protect victims of abuse, and to treat all members of the family affected by or involved in abuse.

FAP offers a wide variety of education, therapy, and support groups to assist clients. Time frames for all groups will vary. These groups include the following: Relationship Management Group, Choices for Change, PRISMS, and other treatment such as couples therapy, and child therapy and family therapy. Regardless of the therapy modality safety of the family is of primary concern.

Services are available to all active duty Soldiers, retirees, and family members. Beneficiaries of all ages may receive services. Clients may need to be referred to civilian providers through the TRICARE health system if their needs exceed allowable services and available resources.  Children aged 17 and under will always be seen when the presenting problem is a report involving domestic violence (abuse and/or neglect). Clinical professionals will see all other therapeutic concerns on a space-available basis.

Choices for Change Group

Choices for Change is a confidential, warm, and supportive educational group lasting 18 weeks. During the interactive sessions, group members learn about the various forms of domestic violence, how it affects the victims, safety planning, and available resources. Service members and civilians are welcomed to participate.
