Specialty Referrals

We will make every effort to schedule your care here at Irwin Army Community Hospital. If we are not able to meet your needs, we will refer you to a TRICARE Network Provider.

Network Specialty Care Referral Guide

  • Step 1: Wait three business days after your provider writes your referral to check the status of your referral/authorization on TRICARE-west.com through your beneficiary portal. The information will be available under “Check Authorization Status” section.
  • Step 2: Download the authorization letter. The letter will not be mailed to you. It will provide you with the name of the servicing provider/clinic contact information and service dates for your care. IMPORTANT: Beneficiaries are required to obtain authorization for travel and reimbursement from IACH Patient Travel Office before the date of their appointment. You could be reimbursed for your travel that is greater than 1 hour from the hospital. For more information, go to “Travel Authorization” under the “Patient Resources” link on this website.
  • Step 3: If you need assistance with your network referral, call HealthNet Federal Services at 1-844-866-9378, visit the Referral Management Office on the 1st Floor of the hospital across from the Chapel from 0730-1630.  The Referral Management Office can also be reached at 785-239-3627, Option 4. Option 2.

Network Scripts

If you are seen by a network provider and are given a handwritten script to have laboratory test or radiology studies, you can carry the script to the lab or radiology sections at IACH and have the test or study done. The results will be faxed to your ordering provider. You can also use this process if you have a script for a knee brace. You take your script to the IACH Orthopedic Clinic and they will assist in getting this item.
