Health Services

School Behavioral Health (SBH)

SBH provides comprehensive behavior health services to support military children and their families on Fort Riley schools. The program emphasizes a public health model, coordinating a continuum of care from prevention, through early intervention, to behavioral health treatment.

School Behavioral Health services are directed at improving academic achievement, maximizing wellness and resilience of Army children and families, and ultimately promoting optimal military readiness. The SBH program serves as both a referral source and entry point for the Primary Care Managers and the CAFBHS behavior health specialty provider team. The intent is to connect children, family members, and Soldiers to the right professional service.

SBH providers serve in most of the Fort Riley schools. Below are the schools that house at least one SBH provider weekly (when school is in session).

  • Seitz Elementary
  • Ware Elementary
  • Fort Riley Elementary
  • Fort Riley Middle School

School Behavioral Health services include individual therapy, family therapy, Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), collaboration/coordination with school staff regarding on-going care of the patient, educational and therapy groups, teacher and parent education, behavioral health evaluation and diagnosis, and communication with military medical services.
