FORT RILEY, Kansas –
After more than two years of closure, the Custer Hill Dental Clinic will reopen to Soldiers on Aug. 28, 2025, restoring a central hub for dental readiness in the heart of the installation.
Located at 7670 Parker Rd., the clinic was closed in July 2023 due to major failures in its HVAC system and boiler. Since then, the facility has undergone extensive repairs and upgrades, including a new HVAC system with updated computer controls, new fire sprinkler systems, refurbished roof, and installation of new instrument washers and sterilizers.
With 35 dental chairs, Custer Hill is the largest dental clinic on post. Its location, about a football field away from the nearest barracks, makes it convenient for Soldiers.
“Dental readiness is a critical component of overall Soldier readiness,” said LTC Aaron Amano, commander of Fort Riley’s Dental Health Activity. “The reopening of Custer Hill Dental Clinic expands our capacity and places high-quality care close to where Soldiers live and work.”
Upon reopening, Custer Hill Dental Clinic will operate Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., supporting the 1st Infantry Division’s mission by ensuring Soldiers remain deployment-ready.
