WHO is THE BEST?

So we asked ourselves, who is The Best? 78 medical professionals representing 13 organizations in the Medical Readiness Command-West will converge on Fort Riley, Kansas, to endure the pounding, the forging, and the sting that achieves Victory. Dr. Sharon Harris-Baugh now shares her story of persistence and passion to realize her dream in spite of those who discouraged her pursuit. Feb. 3 is #NationalWomenPhysiciansDay, a time to recognize the strides made by generations of women doctors, and that we must strike a balance that allows women to succeed professionally while supporting a family.

A Highly Preventable Disease for Women

FORT RILEY, Kan. — Dr. Morgan Potter, an IACH OB/GYN physician, wishes she had seen some patients just a few years earlier before their abnormal cells turn cancerous. In this interview, she describes when women should get pap smears, how pelvic exams may be confused for pap smears, when women should get vaccinated, whether boys should get vaccinated, the effectiveness of HPV vaccine and/or condoms, whether pap smears are still needed for those vaccinated, and how she performs a pap smear.
