Flu & COVID Vaccine Clinic Dec. 13

The Fort Riley Department of Public Health (DPH) is schedule to run its last flu vaccine clinic Dec. 13. In conjunction with the flu vaccine, DPH will also offer a limited number of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines. Moreover, for the convenience of federal government civilian employees, the DPH is extending walk-in flu vaccine services on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through December 14 at Caldwell Clinic, Fort Riley.

Cyberattack Impact on Fort Riley Pharmacy Operations

A reported cyberattack on the nation’s largest commercial prescription processor, Change Healthcare, continues to affect military clinics and hospitals worldwide. On February 21, Change Healthcare disconnected their systems to protect patient information. This is impacting all military pharmacies worldwide and some retail pharmacies nationally. As of March 13, 2024, Fort Riley pharmacies continue to provide prescriptions through manual procedures until this issue is resolved. Please be patient as it will take longer than usual to safely fill prescriptions.

Reduction of Orthopedic Services

We would like to inform you of an upcoming change in our orthopedic services that will impact our ability to provide care. As of March 25, 2024, the Orthopedic Unit at IACH will experience a temporary reduction in providers due to unavoidable staffing changes, including surgeons and physician assistants transitioning to other assignments and deployments.

For Soldiers Assigned to 97th MP Battalion

Effective Monday 09 April 2024, all Soldiers assigned or attached to the 97th MP Battalion will receive their medical care at Irwin Army Community Hospital located at 650 Huebner Rd., Fort Riley. Soldiers with assigned Primary Care Manager, Dr. Carney, should report to the Ground Floor, co-located with the WIC clinic, for scheduled appointments or sick call visits. Before entering the waiting area near the elevator, Soldiers must obtain a Q-flow ticket from the Q-flow device. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Carney, please contact the Irwin Army Community Hospital Central Appointment Line at 785-239-3627 or 1-888-239-3627. Sick call procedures are as follows: appointments are available from 0730-0900 Monday through Friday. During sick call visits, Soldiers must bring a signed sick call 689 slip and will be screened by the Medics at the clinic.

NOTICE: Update Hospital Access Policy

Starting Monday, May 6th, Irwin Army Community Hospital is implementing a revised access policy for the safety and security of our staff and patients. Please take note of the following changes: • Hospital Doors: Monday through Friday, hospital doors will be locked from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. On weekends and federal holidays, doors will remain locked. This does not apply to the Emergency Department entrance. • Stairwells 1 and 8: Stairwells 1 (near the chapel) and 8 (near the occupational therapy clinic) will also be locked during the specified hours. During locked hours: • ScriptCenter Refills: Patients needing prescription refills from the ScriptCenter can access the kiosk by visiting/signing in at the check in desk and/or guard desk located in the Emergency Department (ED). • Inpatient Care Visitors: Visitors coming for inpatient care can also seek assistance/signing in at the ED check in or guard desk for access to the hospital. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we prioritize safety.

Change of Command at Irwin Army Community Hospital

Irwin Army Community Hospital held a change of command ceremony June 17, 2024, where Col. Anthony D. Gray relinquished command to Col. Laudino Castillo. Medical Readiness Command, West, Commanding General Brig. Gen. Yolonda “YR” Summons presided over the ceremony before an audience of Soldiers, family members, the Fort Riley community, and local healthcare partners.

Online Lab Scheduling Now Available

Irwin Army Community Hospital is pleased to announce the launch of its new online lab appointment scheduling system. As of Aug. 1, 2024, patients can conveniently book lab appointments through the Digital Appointment Portal. This pilot program aims to streamline the lab appointment process, reducing wait times for patients with scheduled appointments. While walk-in appointments will continue to be available, those with scheduled appointments will take priority.

Pregnancy & Infant Loss Ceremony Oct. 15

We invite you to join us in a moment of remembrance and reflection. Irwin Army Community Hospital will hold a Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Ceremony on October 15th at noon in the Healing Garden. This gathering offers a space for those who have experienced the profound loss of a pregnancy or infant to come together in shared understanding and support. We understand the unique and enduring pain associated with these losses, and we offer this ceremony as a time to honor the lives of those who were loved and missed. All are welcome to attend this solemn occasion. Together, we can find solace and strength in community.

Virtual Queuing is Here

Introducing Q-Anywhere, a virtual queuing system that lets you activate your prescription the moment you leave your healthcare provider's office at Irwin Army Community Hospital. How it works: 1. Scan or text: Simply scan the QR code or text "get in line" to (855) 797-3905. 2. Get in line: Your place in line is secured, so you can go about your day. 3. Pick up: When your prescription is ready, head to Window 7 at the Irwin Army Community Hospital pharmacy. Q-Anywhere is available Monday - Friday, 5 a.m. - 3 p.m., for new prescriptions and renewals entered within the last 7 days. Requests will be ready after 10 a.m. the next business day. For prescriptions older than 7 days, you'll need to activate them in person at the pharmacy during business hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.). For refills, continue to use the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal or the Audiocare number on your prescription bottle. For urgent needs, please come to the pharmacy and pull a ticket.

Breast Cancer Awareness Glow Run

Each year, thousands of people are affected by breast cancer, whether it touches your life directly or involves someone you hold dear. Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women worldwide, with about 1 in 8 women being diagnosed with it in their lifetime. The Staff Engagement Working Group and the Public Health team invite you to our Glow Run/Walk event on Oct. 4. The Glow Run/Walk will take place at the outdoor track near the Whitside gym in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirts are on sale for $20; please see the attached flyer for more details. Everything in white on the back of the t-shirt will glow! The front has a pink flag with stars on it with a ribbon wrapped around it. The run/walk will kick off at 7 PM, if you can't take part in the run/walk, come out to enjoy the music, giveaways, and other activities. This event is open to the public, so please share with your friends. We look forward to seeing you there. In case of inclement weather, the outside activities will be canceled, and an information booth will be located inside the hospital.
