Hospital Change of Command

By Jorge Gomez

The community is invited to join us as Irwin Army Community Hospital hosts a Change of Command Ceremony. COL Laudino M. Castillo will transfer command of the hospital to incoming commander, COL Jason K. Marquart.

Date: June 25
Time: 9:30 a.m.
Location: Outdoors at the Main Entrance, next to the flagpole
Livestream: IACH Facebook page

We welcome COL Marquart, a native of Wichita, Kansas, to the Fort Riley community. He initially entered the service in July 1992, serving nine years as a Combat Medic and Licensed Practical Nurse before being selected to attend Nursing School on Active Duty. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Kansas, where he commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. COL Marquart arrives at IACH following his last assignment as the Chief of Clinical Operations for the US Army Western Hemisphere Command, where he also served as the Consultant to the Surgeon General for Emergency and Trauma Nursing.

To facilitate the ceremony, barricades will be in place restricting vehicle access to the main entrance and the top floor of the parking garage from 6:00 a.m. until the conclusion of the ceremony. Please note that the parking garage elevator is currently out of order. If you have an appointment on the morning of June 25 and require the parking garage elevator, use the following alternative parking options.

  • Patients Requiring Skybridge Access: use the garage ramp from the bottom floor to drive up and access the top floor parking area.
  • Ground Level: park in the outdoor lot nearest the Physical Therapy Clinic to enter the facility on the ground level.

We appreciate your patience regarding these temporary traffic changes.
