Irwin Army Community Hospital is open, and we continue to schedule appointments and procedures. We will do our best to minimize impact on our beneficiaries who need health care during the shutdown. The hospital's emergency room and inpatient services remain fully operational. No medical or dental appointments or procedures will be canceled. All ancillary services (pharmacy, laboratory, radiology) will also remain operational. Please call (785) 239-3627 to schedule or cancel appointments. Health Services

Walk-In Contraceptive Services

Get all your contraceptive care in one place: Irwin Army Community Hospital's Contraceptive Care Walk-in Clinic. The clinic is open on Thursdays, 8 a.m. – noon & 1 - 4 p.m., except federal holidays or minimal staffing days.

Services Offered

Services include the following:
  • Contraceptive Counseling
  • Birth Control Pills
  • Patches
  • Rings
  • Implants & Intrauterine Devices
  • Emergency Contraception
  • Removals & Replacements
  • Condoms

How it Works

No appointment necessary. All female beneficiaries will be walked-in for a 30-minute appointment and seen in the order of arrival. Patients may be asked to wait in the waiting room during their check-in period as availability may be sooner than anticipated. If a patient leaves before her turn, the next patient may be called in ahead of her. If more than 14 patients check in to be seen, the clinic may not be able to accept additional patients that day.
